Mekong lifestyle
Gold panning

When the level of water is low, all along the Mekong river gold-seeking communities sift through mud, sand and stones to find precious traces of gold.

In many villages, women weave cotton fabric for selling in larger cities. Able to produce one meter of fabric daily, the main tool is a spinning wheel for the spooling process. Thereafter, dying and weaving follow. Producing one special fabric can sometimes take an entire working month.
